Goodbye Fable
This morning I woke to an alert: a task I’d left running overnight on Claude couldn’t complete.
The reason it failed? US government intervention.
The USA issued an export-control directive requiring Anthropic to suspend access to Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for foreign nationals, inside or outside the United States.
To comply, Anthropic switched them off for everyone, even its own employees.
A model I rely on was removed overnight by a directive I never saw and cannot appeal.
If that isn’t an argument for sovereignty, I don’t know what is.
