Seductive Vibecoding
Vibe coding is seductive. Until the moment shit hits the fan.
Describe what you want, let the AI write it, then ship. No need to understand the code underneath. For the most part, that works.
Because the one thing AI cannot reliably do is rescue you from itself. When the model confidently rewrites a working file and breaks three others, when a “small fix” quietly removes something you needed, you are left staring at a project you did not write and cannot unpick. The code that worked an hour ago is gone, and you have no idea how to get it back.
This is the part of software development you cannot abstract away, because it is your only route back to safety.
It has a name: version control.
Git is, at its core, an undo button for an entire project. GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket are where that history can live, be shared and be protected. Every snapshot you save is a point you can return to. Every change is recorded, reversible and recoverable.
It is the difference between “the AI broke it” and “the AI broke it, so I rolled back two minutes and carried on.”
You do not need to understand everything to build cool stuff with AI. That is rather the point. But you do need to understand this one thing, because it is the foundation supporting everything else.
And for the leaders watching their teams adopt these tools, the risk was never that people would create things quickly. It is that they build fast with no safety net, on top of systems that nobody can recover when something goes wrong.
So I made a field guide. The commands you actually use, plus the rescue moves for when it all goes sideways. Built for developers and vibe coders alike.
