You will often find me in a city, but my heart belongs out here.
You will often find me in a city, but my heart belongs out here.
This is where I come to breathe. Open space and quiet steady me in a way the city never quite manages, and I have learned that stepping away from the noise now and then matters more to my wellbeing than I once realised.
A friend said this view reminded them of the Ukrainian flag: blue sky over golden fields. Once they said it, I could not unsee it.
But this place means more to me than calm. It is home: a place where people can speak freely, live openly, and hold their faith, or none at all, without fearing for their lives.
I do not take that for granted.
